Trump and Milei stage their alliance in Florida in their first face-to-face meeting since the tycoon’s victory

The president-elect of the United States, Donald Trump, and the president of Argentina, Javier Milei, have staged this Thursday the good situation of the relations between both far-right politicians during the Conservative Action Political Conference (CPAC) that is being held these days in Mar-a-Lago, in the state of Florida.

During his speech on Thursday, the tycoon congratulated Milei for his “incredible work” at the head of Argentina since he assumed the Presidency in December 2023 and stressed that “his numbers are working.” “Javier, your word was beautiful, but the work you have done is incredible. Make Argentina great again,” he celebrated from his luxury residence in Palm Beach (Florida) and which ends this Saturday.

Trump also celebrated that the Argentine president is “a MAGA person”, alluding to the ‘Make America Great Again’ movement, which is racist, homophobic and sexist and is aligned with conspiracy theories. “He’s doing that (…) I think your numbers are working too. You’ve done a fantastic job in a very short period of time,” he said.

For his part, the Argentine president offered a speech against the “castes” and the “left”, after praising Trump for having faced “the entire ‘establishment’, even putting his own life at risk”, thus recalling the assassination attempt that the former president survived during a rally in Pennsylvania.

“Today the world is much better because the winds of freedom are blowing that are much stronger. A true miracle and conclusive proof that the forces of heaven are on our side,” he said in what is his first face to face with the Republican after his victory in the presidential elections on November 5.

The Secretary General of the Presidency, his sister Karina Milei, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Gerardo Werthein, accompanied Milei to the largest forum of conservatism in the United States at its meeting for investors.
