Tim Walz, Kamala Harris’ Democratic presidential running mate, has defended this Monday the fairness of the US elections, after in recent days the Republican candidate, Donald Trump, and his followers again questioned the reliability of the American electoral system.
“We have the fairest, freest and safest elections. We have a free press that moderates the elections and makes sure things are done right,” Walz said, CNN reports, before voters in Pennsylvania, one of these states considered key to the outcome of an election that promises to be close.
At a campaign event held in the city of Harrisburg, the Democratic Party’s vice presidential candidate has asked the electorate “to remain calm” and “not be discouraged” by the theories coming from the Republican side.
“This state knows something about how to win. How about Pennsylvania wins for America?” said Walz, who, like Kamala Harris, already voted in these elections in advance days ago.
