The Democratic candidate for the Presidency of the United States, Kamala Harris, has reproached this Saturday her rival, the Republican Donald Trump, of being “obsessed with revenge” and “seeking uncontrolled power”, with only three days left until the elections.
“This is not someone who is thinking about how to improve your life. This is someone who is increasingly unstable, obsessed with revenge, consumed by grievance, and who seeks uncontrolled power,” said the vice president during a rally in the town of Charlotte, in the state of North Carolina.
Harris has once again presented herself as the option that “seeks progress” instead of “political points”, while former President Trump is focused on his “enemies list”, underlining the importance of the presidential elections from one of the seven states that will probably determine the future of the White House.
During her speech, the vice president was interrupted several times by some attendees protesting the Biden administration’s support for the Israeli offensive in the Gaza Strip, something that has become common during the campaign.
The protesters were escorted out, while shouting several slogans and raising banners that read: “Free Palestine.”
“It’s okay. Democracy can be complicated. That’s democracy,” Harris said at first while the crowd silenced the protesters.
Harris took the opportunity to make a plea in defense of democracy: “You know what? One of the reasons we’re here is because we’re fighting for our democracy and for the right of people to say what they think,” she said. “But right now, I’m talking.”
Regarding support for Israel in the Gaza Strip, the Democrat has assured that, if she becomes head of the White House, she will do “everything in (her) power” to bring the hostages “home.” “We all want the war in the Middle East to end,” he said.
