Gerard Depardieu’s trial for sexual assault postponed until March 2025

The trial against Gerard Depardieu for sexual assault, which started on Monday, October 28, has been postponed until March 24 and 25, 2025, following the artist’s absence for medical reasons, according to the French media ‘RMC’.

The lawyer appeared on Monday before the 10th Chamber of the Paris Criminal Court and requested the postponement, since Depardieu wanted to be present because “he has suffered a large number of accusations for three years.”

“The witnesses and the evidence that he will present will show that he is nothing more than a target of false accusations. The objective pursued by the plaintiffs has just been revealed by the requests for compensation from the civil parties: to enrich themselves between 6,000 and 30,000 euros,” he assured last Friday, October 25, to ‘France Info’.

Depardieu faces two accusations of sexual assault brought by two women, who accuse him of touching on two film sets, one in 2014 in ‘The Magician and the Siamese’, by Jean-Pierre Mocky, and the other in 2021 in ‘The Green Blinds’, by Jean Becker.

The actor has also been accused since 2020 of rape and sexual assault of actress Charlotte Arnould. He has also been accused by the Spanish journalist and writer Ruth Baza, who filed a complaint last December 2023.
