The Lebanese government has raised the number of deaths to nearly 2,600 and the number of wounded to more than 12,000 due to the attacks carried out by Israel since October 8, 2023, after the Shiite militia party Hezbollah began firing projectiles in support of Palestinian groups following the attacks carried out the day before against Israeli territory.

The Lebanese Ministry of Health has indicated in a statement published on its account on the social network X that to date 2,574 “martyrs” and 12,001 wounded have been confirmed, including 28 dead and 139 wounded during the day on Wednesday.

On Wednesday, he said, twelve people were killed and 68 wounded in Nabatiye, while eight people were killed and 42 wounded in the southern part of the country. In addition, five people died in Baalbeck-Hermel, three in the Bekaa Valley and one in Mount Lebanon.

On October 1, the Israeli army launched a new invasion of Lebanon after several weeks of intense bombings and attacks against the country, including the coordinated explosion of thousands of communication devices, after more than eleven months of fighting with Hezbollah in the border area.
