Pope Francis will become the first Pontiff to write his autobiography, which will be titled ‘Spera’ (Hope), and which will be published simultaneously in more than 80 countries in January 2025, on the occasion of the Jubilee.
This was announced by the Italian publishing house Mondadori, which manages the worldwide rights to this book, at the ‘Buchmesse’ book fair taking place in Frankfurt with Italy as the guest of honour.
It is a work written jointly with the Italian writer Carlo Musso over the last six years. According to Mondadori, the Pope had initially asked for it to be published only after his death, but has changed his mind to do so during the Jubilee of Hope in 2025, which will start on 24 December.
