A total of approximately 41,825 people have died in the Gaza Strip as a result of the military offensive launched by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) almost a year ago, in response to the attacks perpetrated by Hamas militants and which resulted in some 1,200 deaths and some 240 hostages.
This is stated in the report published this Saturday by the Gazan Foreign Ministry, which also reflects another total of approximately 96,910 wounded, all after confirming at least 23 dead and 66 wounded by Israeli attacks since the publication of the daily report on Friday.
These figures would not be complete, since the authorities in the Strip admit that there may be victims among the rubble or in inaccessible areas.
The Gaza front is also being joined by others in the region, especially in Lebanon, where Israeli forces have stepped up their attacks in recent weeks with almost constant bombings, including on the capital, Beirut. The Lebanese government estimates that some 2,000 people have been killed.
