White House criticizes Musk for message about possible assassination of Biden or Harris

The White House has criticized this Monday the “irresponsible” message published by billionaire Elon Musk in which he raised a possible assassination attempt against President Joe Biden or Vice President Kamala Harris after the second attempt suffered by former President Donald Trump.

The message, published on X and later deleted, states that “And no one even tries to assassinate Biden / Kamala.” Musk himself later claims that it was “a joke.”

“As President Biden and Vice President Harris have said after yesterday’s disturbing news ‘political violence has no place and neither does any violence in our country,'” said a presidential spokesman, Andrew Bates. “Violence should be condemned and not encouraged nor should jokes be made,” he added, according to CNN.

Musk endorsed Trump in July after the first assassination attempt, and last month he interviewed the Republican presidential candidate live on X and has regularly criticized the “progressive mental virus.”
