YouTube Music launches an option to share personal radio stations with other users

YouTube Music has begun to introduce a new option that allows users of its service to share their personal radio stations on their channel with other accounts, with the aim of allowing more people to listen to the music collected in these ‘playlists’.

The streaming music platform allows users to create radio stations with the Radio Station option, which was launched for iOS and Android devices at the beginning of last year, and which allows users to manually choose up to 30 artists and groups to listen to their music.

In this area, the company is working on new options to improve the user experience when using this function, such as the tests recently started to create personalized radio stations from a text description. This means that this feature is powered by Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Now, YouTube Music has begun to launch a new function that allows users to share their personal radio stations on their profile or channel, so that other people can listen to their favorite and most listened to musical combinations.

Thus, a personal radio section will appear in the user’s profile, through which the station in question can be accessed. Likewise, this radio can be shared in link format, so that other users can access it directly from other platforms or websites.

As shared by user Rolan Albarico in a post on Reddit, who has had access to this function and is collected by 9to5Google, YouTube Music describes the new option as a station “made for sharing”, which is based on the music that the user has recently listened to and is always kept up to date.

To access the personal radio, users must enter their profile through the configuration menu and select the ‘Privacy and location’ option. Then, ‘Public personal radio’. At the moment, this personal radio function has not been implemented globally and is restricted to some users.
