Maduro says “fascist outbreak” is “resolved” after 2,000 arrests

The president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, has declared the “fascist outbreak” “resolved” in reference to the protests for alleged electoral fraud by the opposition and has announced that 2,000 people have been arrested in the last week.

“We resolved the fascist outbreak with the constitution and in peace. We have 2,000 prisoners captured and from there they go to (the prisons of) Tocorón and Tocuyito. Maximum punishment. Justice. This time there will be no forgiveness,” he warned during his speech at the demonstration in support of Maduro held on Saturday in front of the Placio de Miraflores in Caracas.

“This time there will be no forgiveness. This time there will be Tocorón. What they did was very serious,” he insisted during the march of ‘Chavez’ supporters.

Among those arrested are “all those who toppled statues” in reference to the attacks suffered by statues of former President Hugo Chavez, Simon Bolivar, chief Coromoto and Jose Gregorio Hernandez. “They have all been identified, captured, are on trial and have all confessed how they were paid and why they did what they did,” he stressed.

Maduro also referred to the opposition candidate, Edmundo Gonzalez, and said that “today he was afraid to swear himself in” because it would have “serious legal consequences for contempt of the constitution, the courts and the laws” and he reproached him for his absence from the march called by the opposition in Caracas. “González Urrutia, you’re a fool! You’re not even close to being a pataruco,” he said.

“We’ve already seen this movie and we even know the end: the good guys win. But this third season we’re going to win in a better way and with more strength,” he said. “No one will be able to impose a climate of violence; no one will lead us to coup scenarios,” he stressed.

Maduro also mentioned the order of the Electoral Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice, which has given 72 hours to the board of the National Electoral Council (CNE) to present all the documents of the electoral process and has recalled that this chamber of the TSJ is the only one that can review everything “as mandated by the Constitution and the laws.”

“The TSJ is fulfilling its powers and the National Electoral Council has the final say. The result of the elections of July 28 is given by the CNE, not by the United States, nor by the Campaign Command of the fascists,” he stressed.

The ‘Chavez’ leader has also reiterated his intention to call for a dialogue with various political, economic, social, cultural and religious sectors. “With all sectors, with the harshest criticism from the people, for us to relearn, reformulate the plan and continue moving forward with a plan perfecting it in union with the people,” he promised. All sectors will be able to participate in this dialogue “as long as they respect the Constitution and the five Powers of the Republic.”

He has also announced a new proposal to improve the Anti-Blockade Law and thus improve the country’s income and pensions, and will maintain the Great Mission Return to the Homeland for the voluntary return of Venezuelans who are outside the country and wish to return to Venezuela.
