The opposition denounces a “wave of repression” in several Venezuelan states

The Venezuelan opposition political party Vente Venezuela has denounced that in the last few hours a “wave of repression” has been unleashed against political leaders in several states of the Caribbean country on the eve of the presidential elections this Sunday.

“At this time, forces of the regime are beginning a wave of persecution and intimidation against political leaders in several states of the country. #DoingPoliticsIsNotACrime,” the Human Rights Committee of Vente Venezuela has published on its account on X.

The party also asks for the support of the international community. “We alert the international community of this situation and demand the cessation of the persecution,” it has stated.

In any case, they reiterate their intention to participate in the elections. “Despite the intimidation, the citizens are determined to exercise their rights in this process that, without a doubt, will be historic for the country. On the 28th, Venezuela decides,” the party has stressed.

The message is accompanied by several photographs in which several vehicles of the Bolivarian National Intelligence Service (Sebin) can be seen, the veracity of which has not been able to be verified.

Later, the same account denounced the graffiti against the opposition in the municipality of GuĆ”simos, TĆ”chira, made during the early hours of the morning. “GuĆ”simos territory of peace” or “Leave the one who is quiet alone” can be seen in the attached photographs.

“In this way, the ‘Bolivarian Fury’ continues to vandalize spaces to generate fear and uncertainty in the population. However, the citizens are determined to exercise their right to vote. On the 28th, Venezuela decides!” the party stressed.
