The Obama couple announce their full support for Kamala Harris’ candidacy for the US Presidency

Former US President Barack Obama and his wife and former first lady Michelle Obama have publicly declared their support for Kamala Harris’ candidacy for the Presidency of the country by the Democratic Party.

Although the former president had initially requested an open process to declare a new candidate after the current president, Joe Biden, refused to re-elect, former President Obama has confirmed that the couple transferred their support to Harris “earlier this week,” according to a message posted on the social network X.

“We told her that she will be a fantastic president and that she has our full support. At this critical moment for our country, we are going to do everything possible to help her win in November and we hope that you will join us,” added the former president.

Since announcing her candidacy, Harris has already secured, according to US media reports, the delegates necessary to certify her final nomination for the White House at the Democratic National Convention to be held in the middle of next month in Chicago (Illinois).

In addition, almost all of her potential rivals, such as the governor of California, Gavin Newsom, have declared that they have no intention of competing with the vice president.
