TikTok launches Whee, its social network focused on photography

The creators of Tiktok have launched Whee, a new social network focused on sharing “real life” photos with friends with a design similar to that of Instagram.

The internal code of the TikTok application for Android revealed in March that those responsible for it were working on a new social network in which to publish photographs and share content with other people.

So, these references mentioned ‘TikTok Photos’ and indicate that it would be launched soon, with a brand design similar to that of its older sister.

Now, with what appears to be a low-key launch, ByteDance has launched Whee for Android in a few countries, including Turkey, Thailand and Australia, as Android Police founder Artem Russakovskii shared on the social network (formerly Twitter).

As his page on the Google Play Store explains, this social network encourages “sharing real-life photos” that will only be visible to friends. It offers filters and a chat to correspond with friends and allows you to comment on images and mark a ‘Like’, in the style of what is already seen on Instagram.
