The CNN chain has announced this Monday that the television presenter Don Lemon will stop working for the American medium after he starred in a controversy in February after some sexist comments against the former governor of South Carolina Nikki Haley.
“Don will always be a part of the CNN family, and we thank him for his contributions over the past 17 years,” CNN CEO Chris Licht said in a statement, adding that they wish the journalist “the best.”
In mid-February, Lemon claimed on a CNN talk show that at 51, Haley was not “in her prime” to run in the 2024 election, alluding to a woman having “her prime.” at 20, 30 or 40 years old.
The announcement comes after the conservative Fox has announced that the television presenter Tucker Carlson will leave working for that network.
