Lula revokes several Bolsonaro measures on the first day in the Brazilian Presidency

The president of Brazil, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, has revoked this Sunday more than a dozen decrees signed during the government of his predecessor, Jair Bolsonaro, in one of his first acts after taking possession of the Brazilian Presidency.

Lula, on the one hand, has determined that the Comptroller General of the Union (CGU) would have to re-evaluate within 30 days the secrecy imposed for 100 years on documents and information from the Public Administration, decision of the previous Executive.

Likewise, the president has restored the operation of the Amazon Fund, while the fight against deforestation has been decreed and a measure on illegal mining has been repealed.

On the other hand, the recently appointed leader of Brazil has suspended the issuance of new weapons possession permits, as well as the authorizations of new shooting clubs.

The Brazilian leader has signed various provisional measures, one of which guarantees the payment of 600 Brazilian reais (106 euros) to families enrolled in the current Auxilio Brasil program and which, from now on, is renamed Bolsa Família; the second extends the tax exemption on fuels; and the third restructures the Government by increasing the number of ministries.

In addition, Lula has ordered his ministers to present proposals to remove public companies such as the Petrobras oil company or the Correios postal service from the privatization project.
