The US chain of home improvement and DIY stores Home Depot posted a net profit of $ 4,129 million (€ 3,613 million) in its third fiscal quarter, ended in October, an improvement of 20.3% compared to the earnings recorded in the same quarter of the previous year.
According to the quarterly accounts published this Tuesday by the firm, the turnover in the quarter reached 36,820 million dollars (32,218 million euros), 9.8% more compared to the same period of the previous year.
Between August and October, Home Depot processed 428.2 million transactions, 5.5% less than a year earlier, but increased the average amount of each ticket by 12.9%, to $ 82.38 (about 72 euros) .
Thus, in the first nine months of its fiscal year, the company obtained a net profit of 13,081 million dollars (11,446 million euros), 30.7% more than a year before, while net sales grew 15 , 6% per annum, up to 115,438 million dollars (101,010 million euros).
