A group of investors buys McAfee for 12,075 million

An international group of investors has reached an agreement with the computer security company McAfee to buy it for 14,000 million dollars (12,075 million euros), including debt, as reported in a statement.

The agreed price has been $ 26 per share in cash, which means that the total of the company is valued at 12,000 million (10,350 million euros). Including the payment of all debts, the transaction has been valued at 14,000 million.

The agreed price represents a premium of 22.6 percent with respect to the closing of the share price on November 4. This date is the last day before the price was affected by information published in the press about the possible acquisition.

Among the group of investors are the Advent International fund, Crosspoint Capital and Permita, as well as the sovereign wealth funds of Singapore (GIC) and Abu Dhabi (Adia).

“This transaction is a testament to McAfee’s market-leading online protection solutions, our talented employees, and excellent customers and partners,” said the company’s president and CEO, Peter Leav.

As the company has also reported this Monday, in the whole of the first nine months of 2021 an attributed net profit of 2,592 million dollars (2,236 million euros) was recorded, which means multiplying by 83 the benefits of the same period of the year last.

The bulky change is due to the extraordinary profit at the accounting level from the sale of its business business, closed in June, for a price of 4,000 million dollars (3,450 million euros).

The company’s turnover between January and September was 1,400 million dollars (1,208 million euros), 23.7 percent more, while operating expenses and amortizations reached 643 million (555 million euros), a 10.1 percent more.
