WhatsApp for desktop will allow you to manage privacy from your computer

WhatsApp advances in the multi-device function with news that directly affect the desktop version of the messaging service, which will have its own section to manage privacy.

The technology company has been working for months on a multi-device function, which allows WhatsApp to be used independently on devices other than the mobile phone where the user’s account is linked.

WhatsApp users can use the messaging service on a computer through the web and desktop clients, but they need to have their mobile phone turned on and connected to the Internet. This also implies that the privacy settings that the user establishes are by default those selected in the mobile version.

The company is now working on expanding the scope of these settings, and incorporating these privacy options in the desktop version, as shared by the specialized portal WABetainfo. In a future update it will be possible to establish who sees the profile photo, the last connection and the user’s information.

It will also give the ability to enable or disable read receipts, and even set who can invite a group to join. The option to block number will remain in this new privacy section.

This is a function for the desktop version of WhatsApp that is under development, with no arrival date for the stable version of the service.
