The coronavirus has left another 567,000 cases during 24 hours around the world, with which the total number of infections since the beginning of the pandemic now exceeds 99 million affected, of which 2.1 million have died, according to data updated this Sunday morning by Johns Hopkins University.
The organization has indicated through its website that during the last day 567,159 infections and 13,794 deaths have been confirmed, bringing the total to 98,756,214 affected and 2,121,046 deaths, respectively. Furthermore, more than 54.4 million people have recovered from COVID-19 globally.
The United States remains the most affected country in total figures, with 24.9 million cases and 417,439 deaths. Behind are India, with 10.6 million infections and 153,339 deaths, and Brazil, with 8.8 million and 216,445 deaths.
Also, in the range between three and four million cases are Russia (3.65), the United Kingdom (3.52 million) and France (3 million), while between two and three million are Spain (2 , 49), Italy (2.45), Turkey (2.42) and Germany (2.13 million).
In the group between one million and two million infections are Colombia, Argentina, Mexico, Poland, South Africa, Iran, Ukraine and Peru, while between half a million and one million are Indonesia, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, Canada, Romania , Chile, Belgium, Iraq, Portugal, Israel, Sweden, Pakistan, Bangladesh, the Philippines and Switzerland.
Morocco has confirmed between 465,000 cases, while Austria has also joined the range of between 400,000 and 500,000 infections in recent hours. Serbia, Saudi Arabia, Japan, Hungary, Jordan and Panama have registered between 300,000 and 400,000 infections since the start of the pandemic.
Between 200,000 and 300,000 infections are Lebanon, United Arab Emirates (UAE), Nepal, Georgia, Ecuador, Belarus, Slovakia, Azerbaijan, Croatia, Kazakhstan, Bulgaria and, in the last hours, the Dominican Republic.
Likewise, between 100,000 and 200,000 are Bolivia, Tunisia, Denmark, Costa Rica, Ireland, Malaysia, Lithuania, Armenia, Egypt, Kuwait, Slovenia, Moldova, Occupied Palestinian Territories, Guatemala, Greece, Qatar, Honduras, Burma, Ethiopia , Oman, Paraguay, Venezuela, Nigeria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Libya and Algeria.
For its part, China, the country where the pandemic originated, counts 99,047 infected and 4,803 fatalities, as the university has collected.
