Trump proposed to appoint a lawyer who links the alleged electoral fraud with Chávez

Trump also would have asked about the possibility of declaring martial law

The fraud lawsuits of Trump and his campaign have been dismissed by Justice

The president of the United States, Donald Trump, proposed in a meeting to appoint a presidential adviser to prove the alleged fraud in the elections to Sidney Powell, a lawyer who came to spread conspiracy theories such as that the vote counting machines had been designed in Venezuela during the government of Hugo Chávez (who died in 2013).

According to ‘The New York Times’, in this meeting, Trump would also have asked about the possibility of declaring martial law and deploying the Army to hold the elections again, something that he has denied on Twitter.

This possibility was mentioned on television by former National Security adviser Michael Flynn, who would have been present at the meeting and who has recently been pardoned by Trump after having admitted to lying twice to the FBI about his contacts with Russian diplomacy before the elections that the president won in 2016.

For his part, Powell was part of Trump’s team that sought to prove the alleged electoral fraud, of which he has not found any evidence and which he has been unable to prove before the courts, however, she was fired, although she continued to file lawsuits in her personal capacity. The position Trump proposed her for would include access to national security reports.

The vast majority of those in attendance, including Chief of Staff Mark Meadows and adviser Pat A. Cipelone, were “aggressively” against both ideas.

Also, according to the same information, the president’s judicial adviser, Rudy Giuliani, asked the Department of Homeland Security if they could seize the machines that counted the votes to analyze them, a request that was rejected because it lacked legal basis.

Trump continues to refuse to acknowledge his defeat in the presidential election on November 3 against Joe Biden even when the Electoral College has already confirmed the victory of the Democratic candidate.

During this Saturday, he has repeatedly published interventions by supporters defending the thesis of fraud in conservative channels and has charged against the Republican authorities of the state of Georgia, whom he accuses of being false Republicans for certifying the electoral result after three counts.
