The Attorney General of Texas, Ken Paxton, has announced that he has filed a lawsuit with the US Supreme Court to challenge the results of the presidential elections in the states of Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin for failure to comply with federal electoral laws and for having approved last minute changes to voting by mail.
In a statement, Paxton, an outspoken defender of US President Donald Trump, has assured that these four states “inundated their citizens with illegal applications and ballots” and ignored the rules on how votes should be counted.
“Confidence in the integrity of our electoral processes is sacrosanct and unites our citizens and the states of this union,” Paxton said, according to Bloomberg. “Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin destroyed that trust and compromised the security and integrity of the 2020 elections,” he concluded.
The president of the United States, Donald Trump, remains in his refusal to recognize the defeat in the presidential elections of November 3 against the Democratic candidate, Joe Biden, and has tried without success that the results of several key states are not certified by state authorities.
