Biden wishes Trump a “speedy recovery” after his positive for coronavirus

The Democratic Party candidate for the White House, Joe Biden, has wished a “speedy recovery” to the president of the United States, Donald Trump, and the first lady, Melania Trump, after confirming that both are infected with coronavirus.

“We will continue to pray for the health and well-being of the president and his family,” Biden tweeted, on behalf of himself and his wife, Jill.

The 77-year-old Democratic candidate will undergo a coronavirus test in the next few hours after Trump’s positive, according to sources from the Democratic campaign to CNN. Biden has made no reference to such evidence in his first public reaction.

The former vice president participated with Trump in the first presidential debate on Tuesday with a view to the November elections. Both candidates kept a considerable distance from each other throughout the meeting, greater than the two meters of separation recommended by the health authorities.

During the debate, Trump spoiled his opponent by the constant use of the mask in public events, a protection that the US president has only used sporadically.
