The president of the United States, Donald Trump, has once again denounced the mechanism of voting by mail in the face of the presidential elections in November, which he has predicted as “the most fraudulent in history”, due to the lack of reliability of this method, as he has been warning for months without providing any evidence, according to his critics and electoral analysts.
“They are going to send 51 million ballots to anyone. No one knows who is going to receive them,” Trump said Thursday in an interview on the presenter Sean Hannity’s program for Fox News. “It’s horrible. Everyone knows it. You don’t even need to know about politics,” he said.
“It is that, in addition, the people who receive them have not even requested them. They are going to say: ‘Hey, I got a ballot, great, let’s vote.’ It’s a terrible thing,” he added.
Over the past few weeks, Trump’s lawyers have tried to cement criticism of the president by filing various appeals to recent local elections in some states across the country, with little success.
Without going any further, this past Thursday, Donald Trump’s campaign was unable to present in a Pennsylvania court a single piece of evidence of electoral fraud by mail in a recent vote by mail in the state, according to ‘The Intercept’.
Experts consulted by the public network NPR, such as the former electoral representative Jennifer Morrell, assure that it is practically impossible to falsify a electoral ballot since each one is different for each state and for each election, and they are analyzed by scanners to verify their reliability.
Trump, on the other hand, has defended the absenteeism vote, a special ballot, which is sent at the personal request of voters who cannot attend the electoral college on election day. “There is a process there, so it’s okay,” Trump said. His critics argue that he is trying to make an artificial distinction to spoil the vote-by-mail process in general.
“This is going to be the biggest scam in history,” Trump concluded. “It’s going to be the most fraudulent election in history. It’s a terrible thing. (The Democrats) are trying to steal the elections,” he added.
