Robert De Niro, Al Pacino and Adam Driver join Lady Gaga in Gucci biopic

Ridley Scott is assembling a stellar cast for his next film, ‘Gucci,’ a biopic about Maurizio Gucci, the former director of the prestigious fashion label. Lady Gaga will play the tycoon’s ex-wife, Patrizia Raggiani, and alongside her will be Robert De Niro and Al Pacino, among other familiar faces.

According to Deadline, Pacino and De Niro will be present in the next film by the director of Gladiator, whose casting will also include Adam Driver (Star Wars), Jared Leto (Dallas Buyers Club), Jack Huston (Ben-Hur) and Reeve Carney ( The Tempest), in addition to, of course, Lady Gaga, after the success of ‘A Star Is Born’.

Gaga plays Patrizia Raggiani, Gucci’s ex-partner, responsible for orchestrating her assassination attempt on the steps of the mogul’s offices in 1995. The couple had two children before their separation and Raggiani had recently suffered a brain tumor.

Her children blamed their mother’s murderous thoughts on illness, but Raggiani was still tried, and fears offered a much darker version of Raggiani in a blatantly sensational attack. She was depicted as a despicable and vindictive woman, and was nicknamed the Black Widow.

The script for Scott’s upcoming film is the work of Roberto Bentivegna, based on the investigative book ‘The House of Gucci: A Sensational Story of Murder, Madness, Glamor and Geek’, written by Sara Gay Forden.

At the moment, it is unknown what role the other interpreters will play, and if they will all eventually be in Scott’s film. The director will begin production on “Gucci” when he completes his current project, the period drama “The Last Duel.”
