The coronavirus pandemic leaves 345,000 dead and 5.4 million infected worldwide

The United States adds more than 20,000 positives and exceeds 97,000 deaths from the pandemic

The new coronavirus pandemic originating in the Chinese city of Wuhan has already left 345,000 fatalities and more than 5.4 million people infected worldwide, with the United States adding more than 20,000 cases in the last 24 hours, according to the latest balance of Johns Hopkins University.

According to data updated at 9:00 am on Monday, the global balance of the coronavirus amounts to 5.41 million cases and 345,105 fatalities in 188 countries and territories.

The total number of people recovered exceeds 2.16 million, with the United States at the top of the list, with 366,736 people cured, followed by Germany, with 161,281 patients saved, and Spain, with 150,376.

The United States remains the country most affected by the pandemic and has added 20,500 cases in the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 1.64 million people infected and 97,722 fatalities.

Brazil ranks this Monday as the second most affected by the pandemic, with 363,211 positives and 22,666 fatalities, after advancing this weekend to Russia, which accumulates 344,481 cases and 3,541 deaths. Russia has the lowest number of fatalities of all the countries that accumulate more than 130,000 infections.

Exceeding 250,000 positives, the United Kingdom is in the fourth global position with 260,916 cases and 36,875 fatalities. Spain is behind, in fifth place with a total of 235,772 positives and 28,752 deaths, followed by Italy, which has 229,858 people with 32,785 deaths from the coronavirus.

In seventh place, France records 182,709 infections and 28,370 deaths from coronavirus, while Germany has 180,328 cases and 8,283 deaths. Turkey, meanwhile, has 156,827 infected and 4,340 dead.

PERU EXCEEDS 119,000 CONTACTS
Closing the group of more than 100,000 infections are India, which accounts for 139,049 infected people and 4,024 deaths; Iran, with a total of 135,701 cases and 7,417 deaths; and Peru, which already has 119,959 positives and 3,456 deaths.

Below 100,000 positives, Canada accumulates 86,106 cases and 6,534 deaths, ahead of China, the country where the pandemic originated and which now has 84,095 people with coronavirus and 4,638 deaths.

Next, Saudi Arabia registers 72,560 infected and 390 deaths, Chile accumulates 69,102 cases and 718 deaths, Chile has 68,620 infected and 7,394 deaths, Belgium has 57,092. infected and 9,280 fatalities and Pakistan accounts for 53,349 cases and 1,167 deaths.

The Netherlands has more than 45,000 infected, Qatar has more than 43,000 and Ecuador, Belarus, Sweden, Bangladesh, Singapore, Switzerland and Portugal have more than 30,000 cases.

Over 20,000 cases are the United Arab Emirates, Ireland, South Africa, Indonesia, Poland, Kuwait, Colombia and Ukraine and over 10,000 are Romania, Egypt, Israel, Japan, the Dominican Republic, the Philippines, Argentina, Denmark, South Korea , Serbia, Panama and Afghanistan.

Bahrain has more than 9,000 positives, and the Czech Republic, Norway, Kazakhstan, and Algeria have more than 8,000 people with coronaviruses. Nigeria, Morocco, Oman, Malaysia, Australia and Moldova accumulate more than 7,000 positives. Next, Ghana, Armenia, Finland and Bolivia accumulate more than 6,000 infected.
