‘Scarface’ and ‘Mulholland Drive’ actor Geno Silva dies at 72

Geno Silva, an actor who gave life to the killer The Skull, the hitman who eliminates the character of Al Pacino in ‘The Price of Power (Scarface)’, has died at the age of 72.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Silva died last Saturday, May 9, at his home in Los Angeles from complications derived from frontotemporal degeneration, a form of dementia, which he suffered for years.

In addition to his remembered role as a hitman who kills Tony Montana in Brian de Palma’s 1983 version of the black film classic ‘Scarface’, Silva also appeared in other highly popular titles such as ‘Conexión Tequila’ (1988) by Robert Towne, ‘Amistad’ and ‘The Lost World: Jurassic Park’ both released in 1997 and both directed by Steven Spielberg or David Mulch’s ‘Mulholland Drive’ (2001).

Silva was also a regular face on television, where he appeared in such legendary series as ‘Sad Song of Hill Street’, ‘Corruption in Miami’, ‘A Crime Has Been Written’, ‘MacGyver’, ‘Walker, Texas Ranger’, ‘Star Trek: Enterprise’ or ‘Alias’
