PortMiami | Miami-Dade County officials to welcome the largest container ship to call at a Florida port

MIAMI.— PortMiami will set a new record for the largest container ship to ever call on a Florida port — the CMA CGM Magellan, a 167-foot wide and 13,344 TEU vessel.

Miami-Dade County officials, including Mayor Carlos A. Gimenez and Chairwoman of the Tourism and Ports Committee Rebeca Sosa, will tour the CMA CGM Magellan and then will address the media at PortMiami about the County’s commitment to growing the business and the need for continued cargo enhancements at PortMiami, including the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ feasibility study for the Miami Harbor Safety and Navigational Channel improvements program.
