The president of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, has denied the veracity of a list of food expenses attributed to his office, which has been forced to clarify that it is a reference inherited from the Presidency of Enrique Peña Nieto.

The alleged list includes fillets of white fish, canned tuna and beef, although the expense that has given more to talk are the more than 335,000 pesos (15,200 euros) apparently dedicated to the purchase of sausage, according to the newspaper ‘Milenio ‘.
“Now they took out that here in the Presidency we were going to buy sausages of I don’t know how much money. I don’t eat sausages, I tell them with all due respect. I think it’s an extraordinary food, (but) I’m more of the sausage,” he alleged López Obrador at his daily press conference.
The director of acquisitions of the Head of State, Jael Hernández, said in a statement that the list “is not properly the budget that is exercised and justified”, but a proposal that was “inherited” from the previous Administration as a suggestion.
