Santo Domingo.- A Dominican judge today imposed a one-year preventive detention on a man accused by the authorities of participating in the plot that resulted in the shooting attack on former Major League player David Ortiz, which occurred on June 9 in a place of fun in Santo Domingo Este.
Judge Mary Ramírez, of the Permanent Attention Office of the province of Santo Domingo, issued the precautionary measure against Gabriel Alexander Pérez Vizcaíno, alias (El Hueso or Johan), who will be sent to the jail of San Pedro de Macorís (east).
The Public Prosecutor’s Office accuses Pérez Vizcaíno of showing Ortiz’s photograph to those who had to participate in the shooting attack suffered by the Boston Red Sox designated ex-bomber, popularly known as Big Papi, and who was shot at point-blank range by the back that came out of his abdomen.
Before the adoption of the measure against Pérez Vizcaíno, eight men and one woman have also been sent to prison in a preventive manner for their alleged participation in the plot and execution of the shooting to Ortiz, in which the communicator Jhoel López was also wounded. , who was in the place of the event with the former player.
The authorities also accuse El Bone of being the link between José Eduardo Ciprián (alias Chuky), a prisoner in a prison in the south of the country for other crimes, and the group of assassins who came into contact with the fugitive Alberto Miguel Rodríguez Mota, a who is designated as the one who paid for the attack against Big Papi.
According to the accusatory file, which Efe had access to, Pérez Vizcaíno received on his cell phone, the day of the incident, a photo of the “target” sent from prison by Ciprián, “his partner in the world of crime.”

Pérez Vizcaíno surrendered to the authorities last week accompanied by his father, who affirms that this has nothing to do with what happened to Ortiz.
The authorities also pursue the case, in addition to Rodríguez Mota, Luis Alfredo Rivas Clase (alias El Cirujano), Marcos Díaz, and Venezuelan María Fernanda Villasmil Manzanilla.

Ciprián (Chuki) and Carlos Rafael Álvarez (aka Carlos Nike), identified as the organizers of the attack, are in a prison in Azua (south) for other crimes.
