Woodland wins the US Open and his first big one at Pebble Beach

Pebble Beach (California, USA), .- The American golfer Gary Woodland has imposed on the rest of competitors on the last day of the US Open Golf, which has been held this week in the centennial tour of Pebble Beach, on the banks of the Californian Pacific.

Woodland, who led Sunday, has resisted the attacks of his compatriot Brooks Koepka, winner of the two previous editions and the recent PGA Championship in Bethpage, New York, and finished with 13 under par, two strokes of Koepka (-10).

It is the fifth consecutive trophy of the US Open that stays in the United States, since the victory of the German Martin Kaymer in 2014.

The Englishman Justin Rose, winner of the 2013 edition, came to threaten the leadership of Woodland, but a succession of bogeys in the last holes left him in a third party quartet formed by the Americans Xander Schauffele and Chez Revie, and the Spanish Jon Rahm. (EFE)
