Education Department P.Rico reopens call for Registration of Eligibles

 The Department of Education (DE) of Puerto Rico reopened the Call for the Registration of Eligibles for the 2019-2020 academic year, a tool that allows the agency to hire teachers on merit.

Interim Secretary of Education, Eligio Hernández, explained that the call will be available from Monday, June 17 after the process of changing the status of transient teachers to about 2,500 educators has been completed, according to the island’s governor, Ricardo Rosselló. last week, and having completed the student enrollment process.

“This method allows us to hire transient teachers for the next school year, and having been able to complete the online enrollment process early helps us know how many teachers we will need next August. stability to the system before the start of classes The seven regional educational offices will be receiving and analyzing candidates who meet the established requirements, “said the secretary.

In this regard, he pointed out that candidates interested in appearing in that registry must have a regular certificate of teacher in the categories of preschool education, primary elementary level, elementary level, elementary English, physical education, bilingual education, fine arts (visual arts, music, dance movement and corporal expression), special education, librarian, among others.

Once this process is completed, the DE will publish, on July 1, the registration of eligible persons. (EFEUSA) .-
