Departamento P.Rico disbursed 436.9 million between July and June

 San Juan, .- The Governor of Puerto Rico, Ricardo Rosselló, announced this Sunday that during the fiscal year of July 2018 to June 2019 the Department of the Treasury has disbursed $ 436,994,889.23 in reimbursements for 563,798 individuals and for the compensatory credit for pensioners and persons 65 years of age or older.

“Since we began working for Puerto Rico, we established in the Treasury a process to separate the funds that correspond to our taxpayers and those who comply with the law by filing their returns on time, on April 15. This million-dollar disbursement highlights the agility and the commitment of our administration and the employees of the agency, “the chief executive said in a statement released Sunday.

For its part, the chief public finance officer and finance secretary, Raúl Maldonado, explained that the payment of 436,994,889.23 is broken down as follows: 285,545,013 corresponding to 381,638 taxpayers who electronically filed their tax return. 2018 individuals.

In turn, 3,708,945 for 1,973 taxpayers who submitted their individual form on paper; 31,064.40.46 for 124,895 seniors who filed their 2017 return.

In previous years, 116,676,470.88 have been paid to 55,292 taxpayers for payrolls of individuals and seniors.

Regarding the 2018 tax cycle, we have met more than 400,000 taxpayers by sending over 300 million for the payment of excess contributions.

During this week we will be sending five million more to 3,552 taxpayers who were pending after their forms are under review.

“In the Bureau of Processing Returns work quickly to process all forms filed on time but are still under review after our systems detect an error, we are committed to streamline the processes to resolve each issue in particular,” concluded the Secretary of the Treasury . (EFEUSA)
