Trump announces that Sarah Sanders will step down as spokesperson for the White House

Washington, DC – President Donald Trump announced Thursday that Sarah Huckabee Sanders will step down as a White House spokeswoman at the end of June to return to the state where she was born, Arkansas.
“After three and a half years, our wonderful Sarah Huckabee Sanders will leave the White House at the end of the month and return to her home in the great state of Arkansas,” Trump said.

The president considered that Sanders is a person “very special with extraordinary talents” and assured that he has done an “incredible” job as a spokesman for the White House.

In addition, Trump recommended Sanders to run for state governor elections, a position held by his father, Mike Huckabee, from 1996 to 2007.

“I hope she decides to run for governor of Arkansas, it would be fantastic,” the president said.

The last time Sanders held a press conference at the White House to appear before the media was on March 11, setting the record of 94 days of a US presidential spokesman without appearing before journalists.

On April 25, he held a simulation of a press conference in the presidential mansion, but it was before the children of the White House staff in a relaxed tone.

Although the White House has not yet announced who will be its replacement, it is possible that Sanders’ “number two” Hogan Gidley occupies the position on an interim basis.

During an act at the White House, Sanders thanked what he described as an “honor” and a “once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.”
Likewise, he assured that he “loves” working with the president and the team with which he has had the pleasure of sharing, and indicated that the love towards his companions is only surpassed by the fact that he is “a mother” .

Sanders promised that she will continue to be “one of the most sincere and loyal supporters of the president,” to whom he predicted “an incredible six more years.”

The unexpected departure of Sanders comes two months after the resignation of the Secretary of Homeland Security, Kirstjen Nielsen.
Another of the important names of the Trump Executive that has left his position in recent months has been John Kelly, former White House chief of staff who left office in December.

That same month, the former Secretary of Defense, James Mattis, also announced his resignation after months of differences with Trump, whose management criticized in his letter of farewell to the Pentagon. (EFE)
