“Men in Black” and “Shaft”, sequel duel on the card

 Los Angeles, .- The billboard will live this weekend a duel of sequels with the premieres of the new installments of “Men in Black” and “Shaft”, which will try to take advantage of these days before next Friday June 21 premiered the long awaited animated film “Toy Story 4”.

Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson are the protagonists of “Men in Black: International”, a film that, under the direction of F. Gary Gray (“Straight Outta Compton”, 2015), relaunches the story that Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones led in “Men in Black” (1997), “Men in Black II” (2002) and “Men in Black 3” (2012).

Mixing again comedy and science fiction, “Men in Black: International” tells a new struggle to rid the planet of extraterrestrial threats with the difficulty that, this time, the aliens have managed to infiltrate one of its members between rows of “men in black”.

Samuel L. Jackson is the main star of “Shaft”, which follows the film series started by “Shaft” (1971), a blaxploitation film classic; and “Shaft” (2000), already with Jackson at the helm and directed by the recently deceased John Singleton.

In this new film, John Shaft (Richard Roundtree), his nephew John Shaft II (Samuel L. Jackson), and the son of the latter, the young John Shaft III (Jessie Usher) join forces to try to end a network of drug trafficking based in Harlem.

For his part, the cult filmmaker Jim Jarmusch (“Broken Flowers”, 2005, “Paterson”, 2016), is surrounded in “The Dead Do not Die” by a cast of many carats in which Bill Murray, Selena appear Gomez, Adam Driver, Tom Waits, Tilda Swinton, Steve Buscemi or Iggy Pop.

The film, which was presented as one of the major bets of the last Festival de Cannes, is a comedy of zombies with details of social denunciation.

Finally, Sienna Miller is the protagonist of “American Woman”, a drama by director Jake Scott (“Welcome to the Rileys”, 2010) and which also featured as featured performers Aaron Paul and Christina Hendricks.
