The data collected in the last monthly report represents a significant reduction in relation to the last document, published at the end of April, when the alliance identified 34 new civilian victims.
These figures are the result of the investigations carried out by the coalition on a regular basis and that are presented in a report every month, the latest edition of which was published today.
Throughout the month of April, the coalition worked on 122 ongoing investigations and received 7 new complaints about possible failed attacks, which represents the same allegations as those included in the previous document.
In total, the alliance completed 18 of those investigations: 3 of which were considered credible, one was duplicated and 15 were discarded. The remaining 111 investigations remain open, including a previously closed one that was activated again “after obtaining new information” about the incident.
All civilians lost their lives “unintentionally” in the framework of the “Inherent Resolve” operation, the alliance said in a statement.
“We continue to employ meticulous attacks and with established objectives to minimize the impact of our operations on civilian populations and infrastructures, this process contemplates the review and selection of each objective before an attack, as well as a new examination after the attack,” coalition.
In total, there have been 34,502 attacks in the region between August 2014 and the end of last April, the alliance explained.
