Brother Scarlett Johansson puts solar panels on building firefighters in Puerto Rico

 San Juan, .- The Solar Responders Foundation, of Hunter Johansson, brother of the American actress Scarlett Johansson, installed this last Wednesday the solar panels in the fire station of the island-municipality of Culebra, as part of its reconstruction process by the passage of hurricane Maria.

“For us, this donation is very important, since we are looking to improve the quality of life of our personnel,” said the commissioner of the Bureau of the Fire Department of the Department of Public Security of Puerto Rico, Alberto Cruz, in a press release .

The official stressed that the installation of the plates “is very necessary, not only for the economic savings of the energy service, but we also contribute to the environment by being eco-friendly”
“Our mission is to continue providing the best service to the people of Puerto Rico,” he said.

He added, in turn, that there are already 17 stations that have a solar panel system and “our goal is to reach all stations of the Fire Department.”

The stations that have the new technology are Adjuntas, Culebra, Rincón, Metro Station, Barrio Obrero in Santurce, Vieques, Castañer (Lares), Las Marías, Ángeles de Utuado, Utuado II, Naguabo, Guenica, Lares, San Sebastián and Peñuelas. .

“In the Culebra station, even if the island municipality does not have electricity service, we do and this benefits us since we operate with the solar panels system, keeping the communications intact to attend to any emergency,” he said. the lieutenant and district chief of the Humacao area, Javier Cruz.

The solar panels installed in the Culebra station are Tesla brand and they have an approximate value of about 50,000 dollars.
