Miami rapper Kodak Black is arrested in Miami before performing at a festival

Miami, – Rapper Kodak Black was arrested Saturday night for possession of weapons, shortly before going on stage at Hard Rock Stadium, north of Miami (Florida), where this weekend a music festival is held.

According to Miami-Dade County Police, the singer, whose legal name is Bill Kapri, was taken into custody in the same stadium, home of the Rolling Loud Music Festival, and then transferred to a prison awaiting his first appearance in a court, scheduled for Monday.

The singer was arrested as a result of a “long investigation” by the federal agency of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, as well as US Marshals, as a result of violations related to the use and possession of weapons, according to local police.

The one on Saturday is the most recent chapter with the justice of the young rapper, 21 years old and originally from the town of Miramar, Florida, after being arrested last month with drug charges and possession of weapons when he entered the US through the border with Canada, local media reported.

Kodak Black was also arrested in August 2018 and admitted to a Broward County jail in South Florida for theft, possession of marijuana and negligence, among other charges, and must face a judicial process in South Carolina, where is accused of raping a high school student.

The hip-hop festival Rolling Loud, which welcomes thousands of attendees and is considered the largest of its kind in the US, began last Friday with performances by Migos and Cardi B, among other musicians who make up a poster of more than a hundred artists.

Rapper Lil Wayne, one of the figures who was going up on stage on Saturday at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, canceled his performance because the police were going to review him and his team before offering their concert.

“The Festival Police determined that it had to be checked to get to the stadium, I do not agree and I will never agree to be watched to do my job,” explained Lil Wayne on his Twitter account. (EFEUSA)
