Farruko hopes to “solve the mistakes of the past” and continue with his career

Miami, (EFE). – The singer Farruko assured this Wednesday in Miami (the USA) that faces “tranquil” his judicial situation and trusts that they can be “solved the errors of the past” to be able to “continue singing and triumphing in the music” .

“I have not robbed anyone, it was just a mistake I made, I respect the law, I respect their reasons, I am complying with my conditional freedom, I am working, calm and positive,” said the Puerto Rican during a meeting with the press in this city. South Florida on the occasion of the recent publication of his new album, “Gangalee”.

On June 13, the singer will appear in a federal court in Puerto Rico after pleading guilty in March to the charges against him, after attempting to pass the San Juan customs without declaring more than $ 50,000.

The events, which occurred on April 4, 2018 after disembarking from a private flight from the Dominican Republic, could mean years of imprisonment to the artist, one of the greatest exponents of urban music.

“There are still things to resolve, I may end up with a probation of several years or I may end up in jail again, that is in the hands of God, the judge and the lawyers,” he confessed visibly moved.

The artist, who spent two days in jail when he was arrested and by order of the judge no longer wearing an electronic shackle, regretted that “public figures are being abused more when they are judged, either by the morbid or by the news that generate”.

“It’s becoming like a fad, every public figure who makes a mistake, like any person, the news gets bigger and at the end of the day they are human beings who have to have the same right and have to be judged equally”, stressed.

While fulfilling his parole and awaiting trial, the singer has taken the opportunity to present to the media his eighth studio album, in which he wanted to “rescue the style of Farruko and the Caribbean”, so he has combined music urban and reggae with more tropical rhythms.

On the title of the album, which was published on April 26, the interpreter commented that he used a term that means “warrior in Rastafarian language”, a word that defines him “very well” for everything that has happened in his life.

“I identified a lot with his name and with the meaning, he caught my attention and I based on that to create the album,” he added.

For this work, the artist has collaborations with other great stars of urban music and reggaeton, such as Bad Bunny, Anuel AA, Pedro Capó, Manuel Turizo or Zion & Lennox.

Recently, Farruko has returned to generate great controversy for a song performed with Don Omar and whose lyrics allude to the consumption of marijuana, on which the Puerto Rican has been in favor of its consumption, both medicinal and recreational.

He argued that in today’s society “there is a lot of ignorance” because of “the pressure that governments have exerted on their commercialization”.

“I do not know anyone who has died from consuming cannabis and yes from tobacco,” said the singer.

Farruko hopes to conduct a concert tour through the United States, Latin America and Europe in the coming months, although, for now, his future is uncertain pending the resolution of his court case.
