4-0. Strasburg wins Syndergaard duel and Nationals blanks Mets

New York, .- Starter Stephen Strasburg was better than Noah Syndergaard in the duel of star pitchers, the Dominican rookie, center fielder Víctor Robles, homered in the sixth and the Washington Nationals won by blanked 4-0 to the New York Mets.

Robles’ homerun was the first that the Nationals connected in the game and left the Mets with the defeat in the opening match against their supporters.
Another Dominican, Wilmer Difo drove a couple of runs and the Washington bullpen backed the good start of Strasburg (1-0) after prescribing nine strikeouts in six innings and two thirds of work on the mound.

Hand in hand against Syndergaard for the second time in six days, Strasburg threw an unstoppable ball until the seventh before allowing singles followed with two “outs”.

Matt Grace struck out J.D. Davis, while Justin Miller and Tony Sipp combined for three strikeouts in the eighth.
Reliever Sean Doolittle completed four hits, leaving Strasburg with an 8-1 record and 2.14 ERA in starts at Citi Field in New York.

The Washington relievers dawned in the last place of the majors with an 11.02 ERA, and the rivals with a .377 average against them.

The only unstoppable Syndergaard (0-1) allowed in six innings was the home run that Robles fired when he opened the sixth. He struck out six and gave two tickets.

After sweeping a series in Miami, the Mets returned at 2 in the morning, and their bats seemed to be lacking in inspiration.
Dominican dominance in the offensive of the Nationals was complete with Juan Soto who went 3-1, two scored; Robles 3-1, one scored and one towed; and Difo of 3-1, two driven. (EFE)
