Miami, – The Indie Pasion Film Festival will host from April 4 to 7 in Miami a selection of 20 films from Latin America, Spain and Portugal, as well as guests such as Paz Vega, Estefanía de los Santos, Christian Carabias, Agustina Macri and Paola King.
The third edition of this festival dedicated to the promotion and exhibition of Ibero-American films will take place in the Silverspot cinema complex, right in the center of the city, and will be inaugurated on Thursday 4 with “Un traductor”, directed by the Cuban Rodrigo and Sebastián Barriuso, and starring the Brazilian Rodrigo Santoro.
The program includes 20 films, of which four are documentaries, such as “Unraveling Athena”, about women dedicated to professional tennis, which has as executive producer the former number one in the Spanish world Arantxa Sánchez Vicario and so far has not presented in United States.
“Ay, mi madre” (Spain), by Frank Ariza, with Paz Vega and Estefanía de los Santos among its protagonists, “Sofía” (Colombia), by Famor Botero and with Paola del Rey, “Julia y el zorro” (Argentina) ), by Inés María Barrionuevo, “Sunburn” (Portugal), by Vicente Alves do Ó, are on the list of films of this festival.
They are also “The vampire of the lake”, of the Venezuelan Carl Zitelmann; “And suddenly the dawn”, of the Chilean Silvio Caiozzi; “La luz del cerro”, by Peruvian Ricardo Velarde; “Quién te cantara”, by the Spanish Carlos Vermut; “Soledad”, by Argentina’s Agustina Macri, and “Despertar”, by Colombian-based Costa Rican Soley Bernal.
From Spain arrives “Inhibited”, by Irene Arzuaga; from Venezuela “Parque Central”, by Luis Alberto Lamata, and “Yo imposible”, by Patricia Ortega, and from Colombia, “Todos se van”, by Sergio Cabrera, who is the president of the jury of this festival.
Two animation films, “Un día más con vida”, by Raúl de la Fuente, and “Ana y Bruno”, by Mexican Carlos Carrera, and documentaries “Por siempre Chape”, by Brazilian Luis Ara, “Vamos”, from María Alejandra Guerrero Rocca and Braulio Rodríguez, and “America First”, by Almudena Toral and Andrea Patiño Contreras, complete the program along with a selection of short films.
In addition to Sergio Cabrera, the journalist and Colombian presenter Patricia Jaaniot, the Venezuelan actor, director, producer and presenter Miguel Ángel Landa and the Mexican actress and singer Gaby Rivera (EFEUSA) are part of the jury.
