“The safety of its operations and the tranquility of the customers is the most important,” Aeromexico said in a statement in which it modified its previous decision to keep its six airplanes in the air confident that they are in perfect condition and fulfill their programs. of maintenance.
The Mexican airline also reported that the flights that were operated by this type of aircraft will be covered by the rest of its fleet of ships.
Aeromexico lamented the accident of Flight 302 of Ethiopian Airlines in which 157 people died after taking off from Addis Ababa towards Nairobi and expressed their solidarity with the relatives and friends of the victims and with the airline’s team.
The plane crash this Sunday in Ethiopia was the second of a plane of this model in the last six months, which has led several companies to suspend the operations of these models.
When announcing the suspension of operations of these models, Aeromexico reiterated that it fully trusts in the safety of its fleet that last year “has operated the Boeing 737 Max 8 equipment safely, reliably and efficiently”.
The Mexican company maintains a permanent communication with the manufacturer and the corresponding aeronautical authorities.
With this measure, the Mexican company joins other airlines that have decided to suspend the use of the Boeing 737 Max 8 aircraft models after the two aircraft accidents of this type that have occurred in the last six months.
The 737 Max is one of the main models of the American company Boeing.
Currently, the firm has more than 5,000 orders from 100 customers around the world and has delivered 330 units.
