More than 2,500 cyclists participate in the Med Bike Rally of Puerto Rico

 San Juan, .- More than 2,500 cyclists toured the streets of the Puerto Rican cities of Ponce and Juana Díaz today during the celebration of the Med Bike Rally 2019, the cycling event of Med Centro, a community-based organization dedicated to providing primary health services .

The organization of the event informed through a statement that the participants rolled to the finish line with a clear message that practicing cycling contributes to a healthy life.

“This year we broke records, since in less than three weeks the 2,500 registrations were filled in. We appreciate the massive participation of the Puerto Rican cyclists who came not to compete but to ride on a route designed to meet the challenge of completing it at a comfortable pace. and above all having a good time, “said Allan Cintrón Salichs, CEO of Med Centro.

“The Med Bike Rally is a cycling event, not competitive, but high performance, organized by Med Center.” The eighth edition of the Med Bike Rally was a single route, divided into two distances, in which both beginning cyclists participated as experienced, “explained Cintron Salichs.

“The route was all by road and traveled through the towns of Ponce and Juana Díaz, the advanced cyclists traveled a distance of 34 miles, while for the less experienced runners the distance was 24 miles,” he said.

Since its inception, the Med Bike Rally aims to positively impact health and encourage people to incorporate cycling into their daily routine as a method to prevent conditions that affect their quality of life.

“With the Med Bike Rally it is projected to impact the citizens of Puerto Rico with a message of preventive health care As a primary health center, the event is part of our institutional response to the problems observed in the physical and mental health of the population, created by sedentary lifestyles and poor eating habits, “said Cintron Salichs.
