Trump will go to the country on television to address the border “crisis”

The president, Donald Trump, announced that on Tuesday he will address the nation on prime-time television to discuss the “crisis” the country is experiencing on the border with Mexico, where he insists on raising a wall.

“I am pleased to inform you that I will address the Nation about the humanitarian and national security crisis on our southern border,” Trump said on his Twitter account, while specifying that the message will be at 9:00 a.m. ET).

The White House also reported today that Trump will visit the border with Mexico on Thursday to meet with border authorities, amid controversy generated by the current partial closure of the Administration, which began on December 22.

In recent days, Trump has weighed the idea of declaring a national emergency through an executive order to have available the funds he considers necessary to build a wall on the border with Mexico.

The president intends to disarm a situation of disagreement with the Democrats in Congress that has caused the closure of a quarter of his administration, which lasts 17 days.

In addition to suggesting that he could declare a national emergency to activate the funds, Trump has commented on the possibility that the wall with Mexico is not made of concrete, but of steel.

The Administration is partially closed since last December 22 because the negotiation between Republicans and Democrats in Congress was blocked by Trump’s demand that the budget project include a game of more than 5.600 million dollars to finance the wall frontier.

Trump’s unwavering attitude towards the construction of the wall, which was one of his star electoral promises, and the continued refusal on the part of the Democrats to agree on this issue, has led the Government to be partially closed for 17 days.

This situation has caused some media to catalog the current situation as the worst in the US government since Trump’s arrival at the White House, an opinion that the president has not liked.

Administrative paralysis affects agencies of ten Executive departments, including Transportation and Justice, on which border security depends; as well as dozens of national parks, which are usually a major tourist attraction.

In addition, it harms some 800,000 of the 2.1 million federal workers, who will not charge while the government remains closed and are at the expense of approving a new budget. (EFEUSA) .-
