The American Kevin Tway provisionally leads the Tournament of Champions in Hawaii, the Sentry Tournament of Champions, after finishing the first day.
Tway, third in the Fedexcup and winner in 2018 of the Safeway Open in Napa (California), delivered a card with 66 strokes, seven under the pair of the Plantation Course of the KapalĂșa Resort, Maui, with seven birdies and without making mistakes.
After him his compatriots Gary Woodland, Justin Thomas and Dustin Johnson finished with one more stroke.
Spaniard Jon Rahm, champion of CareerBuilder last year, will start the second round in the twelfth place of 34 participants, finishing today with a total of 70 strokes for those who committed two ‘bogeis’ in holes 2 and 6 and achieved five ‘birdies’
The Hawaii tournament, first of the PGA circuit of the year, is only played by the winners of a PGA Tour tournament the year before.
