Florida woman pleads guilty to cyberbullying ex-working partners

A woman from Pasco County, in western Florida, pleaded guilty to charges of cyberbullying and making threats to former workmates on the Internet, local media reported today.

Tammy Marie Steffen, 36, used at least 369 fake Instagram accounts and 18 email accounts to harass and make death threats to six people between August 2016 and July 2018, according to the Attorney General’s Office. of the Central District of Florida.

“He harassed and threatened several of his former colleagues and associates through repetitive emails, phone calls, text messages and social network messages, from numerous phone numbers and accounts,” the prosecution said in a statement.

Steffen, who faces up to ten years in prison for these crimes, threatened to kill some messages and others used a program to distort the voice of phone calls and promised to kill the victim, according to the Bradenton Herald newspaper. .

The woman was arrested in July for inventing the attempted abduction of her 12-year-old daughter by an ex-office colleague, in order to incriminate him in a judicial process, as he confessed to the agents of the County Sheriff’s Office of Pasco.

The denunciation of the false attempt of kidnapping forced the deployment of resources by the Police, who when they discovered the lie arrested the woman on charges, among others, of negligence and manipulation of evidence.
