Thompson achieves record in the NBA with 14 triples and win the Warriors

Guard Klay Thompson set an NBA record today by scoring 14 triples and, with his 52 final points, was the great offensive bastion for the Golden State Warriors victory over the Chicago Bulls (124-149).

Thompson, who had just scored 5 3-pointers from 36 attempts since the start of the season, found the best inspiration at the United Center in Chicago, where he converted 18 of 29 field goals, of which 14 out of 24 were 3-pointers.

In his 27 minutes on the court, the guard scored 3-pointers from any position to the astonishment of the Bulls fans, who gave him a big ovation at the end, and his teammates, who celebrated as if it were a title his fourteenth triple, which beat the mark of his partner Stephen Curry.

The Warriors’ stellar base record was dated November 7, 2016, when he scored 13 three-pointers against the New Orleans Pelicans.

In addition to the total record, Thompson had already scored 10 three-pointers at halftime, which equaled the record set in 2014 by Chandler Parson.

The Warriors, who today added their seventh victory by a single defeat, also established a new triple-NBA record, with 17 at the end of the first half.

This is the fourth time in Thompson’s career that he has scored at least 30 points in the first half, the eleventh time he scored at least 40 in a game and the third time he scored at least 50.

Curry contributed 23 points with eight rebounds and five assists, which left him as second highest scorer of the Warriors, who remain unstoppable with their attack to achieve a 55 (53-96) percent of hits in field goals and 53% (24-45) of triples.

Forward Kevin Durant had 14 points and eight rebounds, while power forward Draymond Green was again the best in the game’s direction with 11 assists, six rebounds and three blocks.

But the surprise factor was forward Alfonzo McKinnie, who emerged as the sixth player to get a double-double of 19 points and 10 rebounds, his best performance so far this season.

The guard Zach LaVine and the guard Antonio Blakeney, with 21 points each, were the top scorers of the Bulls (2-5), who lost the second match in their field.
