Diego Torres says that Carlos Vives is “an ideal partner” for his new song

The Argentine singer-songwriter Diego Torres said today that his new song and video “Un Poquito”, for the first time in a duet with Carlos Vives, is “ideal” to share with the Colombian the taste of both for Latin American rhythms.

Vives is “an ideal partner, very committed, very passionate with the song”, said in an interview with Efe the Argentine.

“It’s a song that has a very heartfelt lyrics and a rhythmic rhythm also for dancing, a combination that I really like,” said the interpreter of “Color esperanza”.

“I’ve always liked to mix rhythms from Latin America,” Torres added about the new single, a tropical fusion with urban, electronic and reggae sounds that he will release this Friday.

The actor also indicated that Vives is a singer “very fresh, who has the flavor of the coast of Colombia and Colombian folk music, but taken in his own way”.

The song begins with an accordion “but not vallenato style, but more melodious, which has to do with another intention,” he said.

“I started to work on the lyrics and Carlos’ voice appeared there because it is a very fresh song, ideal to combine with him”, who upon receiving it, began to “throw ideas”.

“‘Un Poquito’ is an ideal place to meet both of us,” he said, recalling that they also had a great time recording the video in Buenos Aires with actress Natalie Pérez.

“The good thing about the video is that it’s comedy, I’ve been wanting a video that has that sympathy for a long time, and with Carlos we have a lot of fun,” he said of the production, which was directed by Spanish director and photographer Rubén Martín .

Torres also said that these “fresh, very romantic themes” are very appropriate for these moments in which women “are seeking their rights, equality”, when complaints against gender violence predominate.

“It’s good to talk nice about women,” he said, referring to songs that sometimes do it the wrong way.

“But each one writes what they want and is a slave to their words and therefore to their songs,” he added.

Torres is now working on the next songs of his album, which he will release at the end of this year or the beginning of next year, and in which there will be “surprises” with duets with other artists.

“Un Poquito”, which is already available on the internet, was produced by Cuban Yadam González, winner of the Latin Grammy for the best Tropical song 2016.
