Ozuna comes close to home run; Altuve, best batting average

Dominican outfielder Marcell Ozuna shone on the day of the majors with the power of his bat that helped him to finish third place in the National League in the section of homers and to be the most outstanding Latin American player.

Ozuna hit the Miami Marlins’ 9-6 win over the St. Louis Cardinals and went on to 23 homers after the third inning punished starter Mike Leake with no runners ahead and no outs on the board.

With his homecoming, Ozuna is third fastest on the Old Course in homers, where he is tied with teammate Giancarlo Stanton (23) and Eric Thames (23) of the Milwaukee Brewers.

The three are outperformed only by Cincinnati Reds’ Joey Votto and rookie Cody Bellinger of the Los Angeles Dodgers, each with 24.

Venezuelan catcher Salvador Perez homered in the tenth and topped three in the Kansas City Royals 9-6 victory over the Seattle Mariners.

Perez (17) hit the right field and broke the tie on the board to seal the Royals’ victory, punishing reliever James Pazos with one out at the entrance.
The Venezuelan relay Kelvin Herrera (19) threw an entry, struck out one and was credited with ransom.

By the Sailors the Dominican paracorto Jean Segura (6) and his compatriot the designated Nelson Cruz (15) hit homers, that did not avoid the defeat of his equipment.

Segura connected in the second against Jason Vargas, with a runner ahead and an out at the entrance.

Cruz (15) also punished Vargas in the third, with a solo game when the Royals pitcher had not yet drawn any out in the episode.

Second-baseman Rougned Odor and Dominican ranger Carlos Gomez hit home runs in the Texas Rangers’ 8-2 victory over the Boston Red Sox.

Odor (16) did it in the second against the opener Doug Fister, with a runner, without outs in the entrance.

Gomez (12) topped Fister in the third inning, with no people on the road, and two outs on the board.

Venezuelan parachute Marwin Gonzalez drove in three and the Houston Astros beat the Atlanta Braves 10-4.

For the Astros, his first three hitters, RG. George Springer, second baseman Jose Altuve and Josh Reddick combined for 8 of 15 with six RBIs and had in the series two .581 batting average games with 15 RBIs in 31 At-bats.

Gonzalez hit 2 of 5 and drove in three, came in at 49 RBIs and left .319 his batting average.

Altuve maintains the consistency of his bat and hit 3 of 5, with a rush and two runs, and remains a leader in the AL in .334, moving away from second-placed New York Yankees outfielder, Aaron Judge, who has .331.

His compatriot, Venezuelan ranger Ender Inciarte (7) hit the fifth inning, with a runner against Joe Musgrove, with two outs in the Braves’ episode.

Cuban-appointed hitter Kendrys Morales hit the Toronto Blue Jays by 7-6 over the New York Yankees.

First baseman Justin Smoak and Morales hit consecutive home runs in the third against Dominican starter Michael Pineda.

Mexican closer Roberto Osuna was in charge of the ninth inning to convert his 20th consecutive save and the twenty-first since the start of the season.

Venezuelan receiver Miguel Montero, fired more than a week ago by the Chicago Cubs to explain what happened to the base robberies that made the team when starter Jake Arrieta was on the mound, debuted with the Blue Jays as the starter.

Montero went 4-0, but scored a run and received a base.

The Venezuelan closer Felipe Rivero scored the rescue in the Pittsburgh Pirates’ 5-2 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies.

Rivero (5) took the last three outs of the game and was credited with the rescue by allowing unstoppable and striking out three batters.

For the Phillies the Dominican third baseman Maikel Franco (12) threw it with a runner on the way and one out at the entrance.

Dominican starter Luis Perdomo worked five innings and scored the San Diego Padres’ 6-2 victory over the Cleveland Indians.
