Noem justifies ICE agent who killed a woman in Minneapolis: “He felt his life was in danger”

US Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem has stated that the woman shot dead on Wednesday by an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent in Minneapolis “used her vehicle as a weapon” to run him over. “He felt his life was in danger,” she justified.

Noem explained on Thursday at a press conference that the victim used her car “to perpetrate a violent act,” which forced the agent to take measures to protect himself and his colleagues.

In this regard, the Secretary of Homeland Security assured that the same procedure will be followed as is usually applied in these types of situations, where agents are forced to use force.

“When a weapon is used to harm someone and incite violence against them and attempt to cause injury or death, it must be classified exactly as what it was,” she justified, in line with the support of US President Donald Trump for the agent’s actions.

The incident took place on Wednesday, when an agent shot 37-year-old Renee Nicole Good during an ICE raid in Minneapolis. The Department of Homeland Security emphasized that the woman used her car as a weapon, calling the incident a clear case of “domestic terrorism.”

In the last few hours, a protest has been held at the same location where the shooting occurred. The mayor of Minneapolis, Jacob Frey, contradicted the official version and accused ICE and the Trump administration of “creating chaos.”
